As part of a working visit to Shanghai, a delegation from the Center for Foreign Policy Studies and International Initiatives, led by Director Sanjar Valiyev, met with Yang Cheng, Executive Dean of the Shanghai Academy of Global Governance and Area Studies.

During the talks, primary attention was given to prospects for developing relations between Uzbekistan and China, as well as to expanding expert and research cooperation. In particular, an initiative was put forward to hold a joint forum to develop practical proposals for implementing the global governance concept.

The parties expressed mutual interest in developing institutional cooperation, noted the expediency of signing a Memorandum of Understanding, and discussed the possibility of launching joint research projects.
