Uzbekistan and China exchange best practices in the field of human rights

Tashkent hosted a scientific and practical seminar dedicated to the book ‘On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights’ by the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

The event was organized as part of the visit of a delegation led by a Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of the 14th convocation, Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Executive Vice President of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, Jiang Jianguo.

The seminar served as a working platform to discuss modern approaches to ensuring and protecting human rights, taking into account national specificities and international obligations.

Particular attention was given to the exchange of experience in the field of legal regulation and institutional support for human rights, as well as the prospects for cooperation in the humanitarian and academic spheres.

The event was attended by representatives of academic and research circles of both countries, government bodies, parliamentarians, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the Chinese side highly appreciated the results of the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights.

Speakers emphasized the importance of scientific and educational initiatives aimed at training qualified specialists in the field of human rights, as well as the significance of joint research projects and academic exchanges between universities and research centers of Uzbekistan and China.

Following the seminar, the parties expressed their readiness to expand bilateral cooperation, including through the organization of joint forums, seminars, and expert meetings aimed at an in-depth study of modern threats in the field of human rights and the development of practical recommendations.
