Uzbekistan and China are developing relations in customs sphere

A delegation led by Vice Minister and CPC Committee Member of the General Administration of Customs of China Li Guo visited Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the delegation met with the leadership of State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that in recent years, the partnership between Uzbekistan and China has been increasingly developing in trade, economy, investment, finance, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

In 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China amounted to 1.9 billion USD, and for the past 4 months of 2019 – almost 837 million USD. These indicators can be increased by launching untapped capabilities of the two countries.

Issues of full implementation of cooperation conditions reflected in these documents were discussed at the meeting. Effective implementation of documents will play an important role in identifying and preventing violations of customs legislation, promptly eliminating imbalances in foreign trade statistics.

China’s participation in equipping border customs posts of the Republic of Uzbekistan with modern control equipment, including inspection complexes for scanning large vehicles was highly appreciated at the event.

At the meeting, views were exchanged on the issues of creating facilities for entry and exit of national cargo vehicles of Uzbekistan, eliminating problems arising in transportation of goods in the territory of this country on the basis of requirements of Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods. Prospects of bilateral cooperation in training personnel for customs authorities and professional development of employees were considered.

In the afternoon, the Chinese delegation visited the customs post of foreign economic activity Chuqursoy in Tashkent and became familiar with conditions created here, customs examination process.

Guests were informed about automated hazard management system, which is directed to green, yellow, blue and red corridors for customs clearance, which was fully implemented into practice on March 1, 2019.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the Peng Sheng joint venture, in Syrdarya free economic zone. Guests became familiar with activities of the enterprise.
