Uzbekistan and Belarus discuss prospects of cooperation in military sphere

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Belarus led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Belarus, Major General Oleg Belokonev.

On May 21, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Belarus led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Belarus, Major General Oleg Belokonev.

Issues of development of cooperation in defense, prospects for exchange of experience were discussed at the meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, Major General Pavel Ergashev.

It was emphasized that mutually trusting relations are developing due to strong friendship between the two countries. The official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan in September 2018 opened a new page in the history of bilateral relations.

First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed readiness of the Ministry to develop cooperation in military and military-technical spheres. In turn, guests noted that this visit provided an opportunity to exchange views on implementation of joint projects in military sphere.

After the meeting, guests visited the Mustakillik Square and laid flowers at the Sorrowful Mother Monument.

On this day, the delegation of Belarus also visited the Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, guests became familiar with activities of higher military education institution, as well as the latest approaches to training military personnel. Guests highly appreciated created conditions for training, retraining and advanced training of military personnel.
