Uzbekistan sambo wrestlers won 11 medals at the World Championships.

It was attended by athletes from 50 countries. Uzbekistan’s athletes won three gold, five silver and three bronze medals. Bakhodir Bakiyev (combat sambo), Ikhtiyor Eshmuradov and Nodirjon Mirkhalikov won gold, Ulugbek Rakhmonov, Oybek Soliyev (combat sambo), Sabina Davlatova, Furqat Ruziyev (combat sambo) and Sokhibjon Khasanbayev (combat sambo) – silver and Ibodatkhon Agojonova, Hakimjon Ismoilov (combat sambo), Istam Qudratov – bronze medals.

At the 46th World Sambo Championships, organized in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s athletes became second, Russian athletes – the first (8 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals) and Belarusian athletes – the third (3 gold and 5 silver medals).
