The 13th International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari” participants presented their competition programs.

Registan Square was filled with a rich tapestry of national songs and melodies, each a unique cultural expression. Representatives from Bulgaria, Latvia, Sudan, Greece, India, Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Azerbaijan shared their musical heritage with the world.

The audience, an integral part of the festival, warmly welcomed the performances of representatives of Uzbekistan – vocalist Gulchira Bakhshilloyeva and member of the ensemble of national classical music of the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan Toshtemur Shukrullayev, who played the nai.

A music teacher from Japan, Mashu Komazaki, performed Uzbek national songs, accompanying on dutar. Her performance was met with thunderous applause.

“Thanks to my interest in Uzbek art, I began to study the Uzbek language nine years ago. It is wonderful and melodic”, said Mashu Komazaki. “Then I learned to play the piano music written by Uzbek composers. There is some magic in the national songs of the Uzbek people, and I get great pleasure from performing them. I was delighted when I got the opportunity to take part in the “Sharq Taronalari” Festival”.

The festival is far from over. The vibrant performances continue to captivate audiences in the city of Samarkand and several districts, showcasing the diversity and talent of the participants.
