Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov has received the Ambassador of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, a schedule of the upcoming joint events, in particular, the next meeting of Uzbekistan – Egypt Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the next round of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries were considered at the meeting.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for intensifying economic diplomacy, including by encouraging direct contact between business circles, organizing business forums, implementing investment projects in textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and other industries.

The main attention was paid to the interaction of the parties within the framework of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The parties also discussed the organizational aspects of the participation of the Egyptian delegation in the upcoming SCO Summit in Samarkand.
