Uzbekistan delegation led by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Iran.

On 11-12 March, the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi received the Uzbekistan delegation. Meetings were held with Foreign Minister Hossien Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Co-Chair of Uzbekistan – Iran Intergovernmental Commission Reza Fatemi-Amin.

The parties considered the prospects for strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, transport and logistics. The course of preparation for the joint events planned for the current year was discussed. Views were exchanged on the effective use of the transport and communication capabilities of Uzbekistan and Iran to enhance economic diplomacy.

A business forum took place in Tehran with the participation of heads of large Iranian companies. The parties discussed issues of implementing joint investment projects in pharmaceuticals, the production of medical equipment and building materials, the chemical and textile industries, and agriculture.

Uzbekistan delegation also met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri. The parties considered various aspects of regional cooperation in the ECO space.
