On April 19, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines with the residence in Tehran, Wilfredo C. Santos.

Accepting credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his work in Uzbekistan and wished success.

During the conversation, the prospects of Uzbek-Philippines relations, some international and regional problems were discussed.

The sides confirmed interest in strengthening cooperation both bilaterally and within the UN and other organizations.

Special attention was paid to the development of trade-economic and investment ties, expansion of the legal framework for implementation of the existing significant interaction potential.
