Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala and Human Rights Eamon Gilmore.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties considered current aspects of relations between Uzbekistan and the EU in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields. Views were exchanged on cooperation issues between the parties in the development of civil society, ensuring human rights, gender equality and freedom of speech.

The parties agreed on the importance of the early signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
