Don’t wait for miracles from Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan, an Uzbek political scientist, journalist, head of the international press conference center Sherzod Kudratkhodjayev stated in an interview to Asia-Plus media group.

“If, following the Tashkent conference, various groups opposing in Afghanistan make at least a step towards each other, this could already be considered a success”, the expert noted.

In his opinion, the most important thing today is that representatives of all states that are permanent members of the UN Security Council, the SCO, representatives of the League of Arab States are meeting within the framework of the international conference, which is convened at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for the first time since the emergence of the Afghan problem.

The Taliban ignored the meeting in Tashkent, although received an invitation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in the capital of which the official representative office of the Taliban is located. Qatar itself in Tashkent Conference is represented by the Special Envoy of the Foreign Minister of this country.
