Uzbekistan’s athletes are taking part in the World Karate Championships WKF, in Dubai.

According to the National Olympic Committee, about 1000 athletes from 104 countries are participating in the competition. The honor of the country at the world championships is defended by 15 karate fighters. 

In the weight category up to 75 kg among men, Dostonbek Otabolayev reached the final. The Fergana athlete defeated American Thomas Scott with a score of 1:0 in the semifinals. Now Dostonbek Otabolayev will fight for the gold medal with the representative of Egypt in the final meeting to be held on November 20.
