UzAuto enhances collaboration

Uzbekistan delegation led by Shavkat Umurzakov, Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat JSC, visited Turin city, Italy.

The main goal of the visit is to ensure the sustainable and long-term development of the automotive industry, the introduction of new production methods, as well as further development of the system for training highly qualified engineers and technicians based on the best international practices.

The issues of enhancing collaboration in higher education were discussed with representatives of the Turin Polytechnic University. Meetings were held with the Rector of the Turin Polytechnic University, Guido Saracco. An agreement was reached on the establishment of a laboratory for the study of automotive intelligent systems in urban infrastructure in 2023 in Tashkent with the support of Italian partners.


The parties discussed issues of training specialists in the automotive and mechanical engineering. An agreement was reached to open a new area of ​​vocational training “Industrial Production Technologies”. Italian professors will be attracted to this program. It is planned to start the program from the 2022-2023 academic year at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. From the 2023-2024 academic year, the program will be implemented at the Andijan Machine-Building Institute. By 2026, it is planned to increase the number of students enrolled in the Industrial Production Technologies program to 10,000.


Members of the delegation also visited Hexagon in Turin, the largest manufacturer of metrological and robotic equipment. It was decided to open a Competence Center and a permanent representative office of the Laboratory of New Metrological Technologies at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

The Italian partners will develop a five-year strategic partnership project to implement all the agreements reached. A working group led by Professor Guido Saracco will visit Tashkent in the coming days.
