The National Award “Oltin Qalam” (Golden Pencil) is essential in encouraging journalists to take an honest look at their activities, objectively evaluate them and strive for excellence.

The delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan also took part in the 17th National Award “Oltin Qalam”.

The award winner, the Correspondent of Uzbekistan National News Agency – UzA, Nasiba Ziyodullayeva, won this prestigious contest in the nomination “The best article to increase public understanding of the impact of reforms in agriculture and food”.

The EU delegation presented the winner with a certificate for participation in the EU Green Week media tour to be held in June 2023 in Brussels (Belgium). As part of this event, sessions will be held on the latest developments in biodiversity, the circular economy, and zero pollution.

“A journalist should not stand still, he/she needs to be in constant search”, Ms. Ziyodullayeva said. – The National Award “Oltin Qalam” is essential because it encourages representatives of this profession to work on themselves, to improve themselves.
