00:31 / 2025-06-12

As part of the Fourth Tashkent International Investment Forum, Achraf Hidri, Director for International Relations and Communications of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA-OIC), visited the Uzbekistan National News Agency.

The guest briefly spoke about UNA-OIC at the meeting with UzA leadership.

The need to strengthen information exchange and partnership based on the requirements of the current time was noted during the conversation.

Since joining the OIC, one of the largest international organizations in the world, uniting 57 states, Uzbekistan has consistently developed cooperation with this organization in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and other spheres.

UzA Director General Abdusaid Kuchimov noted that the media partnership within the OIC is increasingly contributing to the rapprochement of peoples and drew attention to the fact that this is the best means of preserving and recognizing common religion, traditions, culture, and rich legacy.

At the meeting, the parties confirmed the importance of creating an objective and reliable information environment in the current rapidly changing complex era, the need to regulate the digital space, combat fakes, promote the standard of responsible journalism, and work together on cybersecurity.

The current level of cooperation between UzA and UNA-OIC was analyzed, and prospects for further expansion of ties were discussed.
