As previously reported, Turkey’s Istanbul hosted the 4th meeting of Ministers and high-level officers in charge of information and media – members of the Organization of Turkic States.

First Deputy Director General of Uzbekistan National News Agency Sobir Shukurov also took part in the conference. During the event, Mr. Shukurov met with Yusuf Ozhan, Deputy Director General of Anadolu Agency (AA), one of our closest partners, recognized as one of the leading platforms not only in Turkey but also in the world.

The parties discussed issues of further strengthening cooperation. The officials focused on ensuring the effectiveness of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the leading news agencies of the two countries. The parties exchanged views on the establishment of consistent partnerships using modern, rapid and mutually beneficial methods of information exchange, training personnel, exchange of best practices, in particular, the joint development of modern technologies that allow to continuously improve the skills of photojournalists.

The parties reaffirmed the unanimous approach to one of the most pressing issues of the modern information sphere, the need for strengthening cooperation in combating misinformation and preventing the dissemination of false or inaccurate information.

UzA First Deputy Director General Sobir Shukurov briefed on the work carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan, including the National News Agency.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed readiness to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership.

As previously reported, during the visit of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan, on 29 March this year, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Uzbekistan National News Agency – UzA and Anadolu Agency of Turkey – AA.

The document was signed by UzA Director General Abdusaid Kuchimov and AA Chairman of the Board, Director General Serdar Karagöz to regularly exchange reliable information about current events in both countries and around the world.
