Virtual talks have been organized between the leadership of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) and the British University of Glasgow.
The parties discussed in detail the prospects for the implementation of joint educational and research projects.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK Said Rustamov informed about large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, the progressive dynamics of Uzbekistan – British cooperation and new opportunities for developing collaboration in education, science, training and retraining of personnel.
UWED Rector Komiljon Karimov informed the British side about the activities of the university, the country’s needs for in-demand personnel in international relations, international law and international economics, as well as the university’s efforts to introduce modern educational standards and teaching methods, including with the involvement of foreign partners.
Vice Principal of the University of Glasgow Rachel Sandison noted the growing interest in developing cooperation with higher education institutions of Uzbekistan. Taking into account the established relations between researchers, professors, teachers and students of the two universities, she expressed interest in further enhancing and deepening partnership with UWED.
The parties agreed to study the possibility of implementing double degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels in international relations, international law and international economic relations.
