The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur organized an online signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Centre and the Islamic Science University of Malaysia (Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia – USIM).

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Centre and the Islamic Science University, Shovosil Ziyodov, and USIM Vice-Chancellor Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin.

The document provides for close interaction between the two institutions in the implementation of joint projects to study the rich heritage of Islamic civilization with the involvement of the parties as scientific supervisors and reviewers. It is also planned to organize joint conferences, roundtable discussions and workshops, the study of ancient manuscripts stored in Uzbekistan, exchange of experience between scientific and personnel staff, publication of works, as well as the exchange of information and scientific literature.

Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the scientific communities of Uzbekistan and Malaysia will contribute to the promotion of peaceful, moderate and enlightened Islam.

An agreement was reached on the participation of USIM in the project proposed by the Uzbek side to digitize valuable manuscripts and create an international online platform for Islamic heritage “Islamic Science Digital Hub”.
