U.S. Ambassador visits Bukhara

During his visit to Bukhara, U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Jonathan Henick held a meeting with Bukhara region’s Hokim Botir Zaripov.

Issues of expanding trade and economic ties, enhancing investment cooperation, and developing cooperation in the socio-cultural sphere were discussed in detail at the meeting.

The region’s Hokim noted that relations between the two countries have a solid foundation and also informed the guest about the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, the long-term strategic development plans, and the favorable conditions created for foreign investors in the region.

It was also emphasized that on November 11-16, 2025, a working visit by a delegation from Bukhara region to the United States took place, during which negotiations were held with representatives of leading American companies and several important agreements were reached.

Highly appreciating the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, Ambassador Jonathan Henick stressed the availability of broad opportunities to attract American capital and advanced technologies to the region, to develop education and tourism, to create joint ventures in the energy and ICT sectors, and to strengthen financial cooperation. Proposals were made to strengthen cooperation in these areas.
