The meeting of the working groups of the Joint Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan intergovernmental commission on the issues of delimitation and demarcation of the State border between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was held in Urgench from April 29 to May 5, 2019.

The meeting of the working groups of the Joint Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan intergovernmental commission on the issues of delimitation and demarcation of the State border between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was held in Urgench from April 29 to May 5, 2019.

At the meeting, the parties considered the results of the joint field topographic and geodetic works at the interstate border and summarized the land balance calculation, as well as prepared a draft of the demarcation line at certain sections of the State border.

The issue of conducting aerial photography works for preparing demarcation maps was also discussed at the meeting.

The meeting traditionally took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, following the negotiations, the heads of the delegations Tulkin Abdullayev and Mamed Mamedov signed the relevant Protocol.
