First Vice Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodik Safoyev met with Michael Curtis, Senior Vice President of the American Councils, and Senior Managing Director Ann Domorad, in Washington.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, during the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for establishing a partnership in advanced training of leadership personnel, the implementation of the popular American Councils training programs in Uzbekistan, as well as its participation in the process of improving the quality of teaching English in the country.

Mr. Sodik Safoyev informed the American Councils' representatives about the Government’s current priority tasks to improve the quality of the education system, strengthen the potential of domestic specialists, and enhance inter-university cooperation with leading Western universities.

In turn, Mr. Michael Curtis expressed his sincere gratitude for supporting the activities of the American Councils in Uzbekistan. According to him, since the registration of the organization in the country in 2018, there has been a significant expansion of the activities and involvement of the organization in the implementation of new educational projects.
