The Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan hosted an exhibition of 30 volumes of album books of the series “Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world”.
Two volumes of this series entitled “Traditional Uzbek costume based on materials from the museum and private collections of Uzbekistan” were also presented. They present the richest national heritage of the Uzbek people in traditional costumes. Part one is devoted to men’s and women’s clothing worn in Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent and Ferghana Valley. The second part tells about the national clothes of Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Khorezm and Karakalpakstan.
The exhibition and presentation of album books prepared by scientists of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan were held as part of the “National Clothing – National Symbol” event. Its organizers are the Museum of Applied Arts, the Women’s Department of the Hokimiyat of Yakkasaray district, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, the Association of Designers “Osiyo Ramzi”.
The exhibition featured women’s chapans of residents of Tashkent and Fergana, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya bright dresses and jewelry, and other exhibits.
