Representatives of the foreign delegation led by the ICOMOS Expert Natalia Turekulova studied the state of several cultural heritage and archaeological sites in Bukhara region, claiming to be included in the World Heritage List in the direction of “Silk Road: Zarafshan – Qoraqum corridor”.
The international expert was accompanied by the Director of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies Dmitriy Voyakin, a member of the Scientific Expert Council Mavluda Yusupova, a representative of the Cultural Heritage Agency Alibek Rasulov, as well as specialists from the regional department of cultural heritage.
“Experts have studied the archaeological sites of Vardonze, Varakhsha, Poykent, Vabkent tower, complexes of Chashmai Ayub, Bakhouddin Naqshband and Chor Bakr”, says the Head of Bukhara regional department of cultural heritage Sherzod Makhmudov. – In the process of work, the experts put forward proposals and recommendations for improving the condition of objects and the widespread attraction of tourists to them. Views were exchanged on the ongoing work on the preservation and development of cultural heritage sites in the region, the state of the facilities, the reinforced work on the moratorium and plans for the future. International experts praised the protection and preservation of cultural heritage sites in Bukhara, provided information on projects to be implemented in the region.
