UN Headquarters hosts a roundtable discussion dedicated to the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan

An international roundtable discussion dedicated to the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan was held at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The event was attended by permanent representatives and mission experts of more than 40 member states representing the regions of Asia, Europe, America and Africa, as well as employees of various UN structures.

The participants of the event were informed about the progress of the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan, its main principles and priority areas, as well as the essence and significance of the amendments being introduced. 

The key role of the constitutional process in further deepening of democratic reforms, aimed primarily at ensuring human rights and freedoms, guaranteeing human honor and dignity, was emphasized.

The presented information aroused great interest and support of the event guests. Most of the participants drew attention to the openness and transparency of the constitutional process shown by the Uzbek side not only for the population of the country, but also for the general world community.
