A worthy gift for the 32nd Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan was Ulugbek Rashitov’s victory on the first day of the WT Taekwondo Grand Prix in Paris, France. He won the gold medal.
The athlete performed in the weight category up to 68 kilograms. With a great advantage, he defeated his rivals: in the 1/16 final stage of the Grand Prix – Amar Cisse Moussa from Gabon, 1/8 final – Ignacio Morales from Chile, the quarter-final – Yushuai Liang from China, the semi-final – Croatian Marko Golubic and reached the final.
In the decisive match of the tournament, U. Rashitov competed against an athlete from Brazil, Edival Pontes, and effortlessly won. Along with the gold medal, this victory of the athlete brought him ranking points for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
It should be noted that Ulugbek Rashitov became the first Uzbek taekwondo fighter to win two consecutive victories at the Grand Prix tournaments. He also has the gold of the Grand Prix competition in Rome.
