Termez hosted a session of Surkhandarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the meeting.

The organizational issue was considered at the session. Based on the opinion of representatives of the region, the President recommended the candidacy of Kosimov Ulugbek Berdikobilovich, who acted as Hokim, for the post of Hokim of Surkhandarya region.

The candidate’s plans to ensure employment of the population of the region and increase their incomes, develop agriculture and industry, as well as to solve existing problems in the social sphere were heard and discussed. The issue of appointment to the post of Hokim of Surkhandarya region was put to the vote. According to the voting results, Ulugbek Kosimov was approved as the Hokim of Surkhandarya region.

Based on the plans and proposals presented at the session, the President of Uzbekistan defined the tasks for the new Hokim and authorized persons for further development of the region.
