The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Kurmanov has met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Uruskyy, within the framework of which the issues of enhancing cooperation in the industry were discussed.
According to a member of the government, Ukraine needs to strengthen cooperation with Uzbekistan, since the current positive dynamics opens up prospects for the development and deepening of further relations between the countries.
It was noted that the resumption of the activities of the joint Ukraine – Uzbekistan commission on comprehensive cooperation could play a special role in the process of the economic integration of the two countries.
As the Deputy Prime Minister noted, despite the pandemic, the trade turnover between the countries in 2020 increased to $449.6 million, which is 30% more than in 2019 ($345 million).
The parties discussed issues on the further development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
Such goals as the organization of national exhibitions “Made in Uzbekistan” and “Made in Ukraine” in both countries, as well as the activation of the program of bilateral visits at the level of heads of industrial enterprises, were identified.
