Uzbekistan’s young chess players have successfully performed at the Sharjah Masters 2023 International Chess Tournament, organized in the United Arab Emirates for the sixth time.

Under the leadership of the First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Chess Federation Husan Turdaliyev, Uzbekistan national team won two bronze medals.

In the Challengers group, where 200 chess players from 30 countries competed for victory, Ortiq Nematov, a member of the Uzbekistan national team, scored 6.5 points and took third place.

In the Futures group, Zilola Aktamova from Uzbekistan scored 7 points in 9 rounds and won a bronze medal.

Such experienced chess players of Uzbekistan as Jakhongir Vokhidov, Nodirbek Yoqubboyev, Javokhir Vokhidov, and Shamsiddin Vokhidov took part in the Master’s group. According to the competition results, Nodirbek Yoqubboyev took 11th place among 78 grandmasters with 5.5 points.
