Members of the delegation led by Kemal Günay, CEO of Akgün Enerji, a company specializing in solar power plants, met with the Hokim of Surkhandarya region, Ulugbek Kasymov, and discussed the construction of a modern source of renewable electricity.

At the meeting, it was noted that in recent years, friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye have been rapidly developing. In the south of the country, the weather is sunny all year round, which is an excellent condition for creating an alternative energy source.

Turkish investors have strategically promoted a project to build a 100 MW solar PV plant to effectively exploit this opportunity, underlining the importance of this venture.

During the talks, the head of the region expressed his readiness to provide optimal conditions for the joint implementation of such a promising, economically and environmentally beneficial project. It was instructed to study and improve its technical and economic capabilities with the participation of both local and Turkish specialists, highlighting the collaborative nature of this endeavor.

Currently, construction and installation work is underway at a large solar power plant with a capacity of 457 MW in Sherabad district of the region.
