Turkey’s Istanbul hosted the 4th meeting of Ministers and high-level officers in charge of information and media – members of the Organization of Turkic States.
The meeting, held on 13-15 May, began with discussions on cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries in media and mass communications.
The member states of the Organization of Turkic States are Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as observer states – Hungary and Turkmenistan. In the future, Tajikistan is likely to participate in the summit.
The participants of the event discussed the issue of the establishment of a single television in the territory of Turkic-speaking states and the implementation of measures to comprehensively combat the negative effects of social media.
The participants exchanged experiences on how to strengthen the cooperation of member states in preventing and combating the spread of false information, detection of fake data and misinformation.
