Samarkand State University named after Sharaf Rashidov hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Turakul Zekhni and the Tajik language, literature and culture”.

The event, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the scientist-encyclopedist Turakul Zekhni’s birth, was attended by representatives of the regional Hokimiyat, SamSU, Academies of Sciences, Education and Science of Tajikistan, the Institute of Language and Literature named after Abu Abdullo Rudaki and youth.

Deputy Hokim of Samarkand region Khurshid Ochilov, Rector of SamSU, Senator Rustam Kholmuradov noted that in recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan has risen to a new level. This conference is a vivid reflection of the friendly relations between the two fraternal peoples.

Reports were heard on “Turakul Zekhni and the problems of Tajik linguistics at the beginning of the 20th century”, “The role of Turakul Zekhni in the study of literary art”, “Light of the soul”.
