As UzA Correspondent from the Afghan border reports, the Hokim of Surkhandarya region Tura Bobolov, who returned from a working trip to the Russian Federation, visited “Pattakesar”, “Nurli Kelajak” and “A. Jomiy” mahallas in the city of Termez, located on the border with neighboring Afghanistan, where he talked with elders and labor veterans.

The head of the region gave detailed information about the military-political situation in the neighboring country, noting that the protection of the state border is carried out in an intensified manner. An operational headquarters has been established in Termez, consisting of the heads of the security agencies and representatives of state authorities. All the necessary security measures have been taken to protect the borders both on land and on water.

“There is no reason to worry, the situation on Termez - Hayraton bridge has stabilized”, said T. Bobolov. – Most of the Afghan citizens who have gathered on the Afghan part of the bridge and in the adjacent territory left the bridge on their own. This was achieved as a result of active political and diplomatic efforts, as well as outreach efforts.

Following the meetings, the Hokim of the region got acquainted with the living conditions of the population of the border areas, listened to their suggestions and wishes.
