Tashkent hosted a trilateral meeting of the Ministers of Energy of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Energy, it was noted that thanks to the leaders' efforts of these countries, strategic partnership and alliance relations are increasingly developing, which is an important basis for further strengthening multilateral cooperation. Particular attention is paid to the energy sector. An agreement was reached on accelerating the implementation of hydropower projects, including constructing the Kambar-Ata-1 hydroelectric power station. Organizational and legal issues related to the successful implementation of this project, the construction of new power lines, and the rational use of water resources were discussed in detail.
This year, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Mirzamakhmudov, the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Ibraev and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Satkaliyev signed the relevant protocols on the efficient use of water resources and coordination of work in the energy system in the autumn-winter period.
