On January 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the monument to Islam Karimov in Tashkent.
Historical memory is a strong foundation for the nation’s future. The invaluable contributions of the First President, Islam Karimov, to the establishment of Uzbekistan as an independent state and to laying the foundations of the country’s statehood are remembered with deep respect and gratitude.







Thanks to the initiative and attention of the Head of State, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the memory of the First President has been perpetuated, and his mausoleum was built in Samarkand. It has become a good tradition to hold commemorative events on January 30 – the birthday of Islam Karimov.
During the ceremony, surahs from the Quran were recited, and prayers were offered. Remarks were made about the activities of the First President for the benefit of the Motherland and his personal qualities.
The ceremony, held at the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov, was attended by representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, and the government, figures from science and culture, and members of the public.


The memory of the First President was also honored by laying flowers at his monuments in Samarkand and Karshi.
