Treasury of Turkic Literature

Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism hosted an event dedicated to the presentation of the 100-volume edition “Treasury of Turkic Literature”.

It includes the works of 629 famous poets, writers and thinkers of the 11th-21st centuries of Uzbek, Karakalpak, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and Hungarian literature.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee Azamat Toshev noted that this publication is a historic event in the life of the country. This literary treasure is especially valuable as a major literary project being implemented for the first time in Turkic-speaking countries. Member of the Union of Writers, People’s Writer of Uzbekistan Isajon Sulton spoke about the work on the 100-volume book and its significance in the world of culture.

“Samples of Uzbek Literature” in 28 volumes begins with “Selected Ghazals” by Alisher Navoi, includes samples of Karakalpak literature.

More than 200 translators participated in the preparation of the 100-volume collection.

The collection was published by the “O’zbekiston” publishing house with a circulation of 200,000 copies.
