Towards further raising the activeness of women
In Andijon, eastern Uzbekistan, a seminar has taken place on increasing the effectiveness of primary organizations of the women’s committee of Andijon Region, preventing offences and law violations among women and solving problems in this area.
In Andijon, eastern Uzbekistan, a seminar has taken place on increasing the effectiveness of primary organizations of the women’s committee of Andijon Region, preventing offences and law violations among women and solving problems in this area.The event was arranged by the regional women’s committee together with the regional directorate for secondary special education and vocational training as part of the implementation of the Year of Dialogue with the People and Human Interests state programme.
The seminar was attended by officials of the region’s hokimiyat (governorate), the chairpersons of primary women’s organizations, academic lyceums and vocational colleges, psychologists and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
“129 primary women’s organizations in the management system unite more than 134 thousand women and girls. Large-scale work is being carried out to protect their rights and interests, to raise activeness and morality and to enrich knowledge in such spheres as law and health care on the basis of a healthy lifestyle. Special attention is being paid to arranging meaningful leisure activities for students,” says the chairperson of the primary organization of the women’s committee of the regional directorate for secondary special education and vocational training, Nigora Niyozova.
At the event, there was a detailed discussion about the work of these primary organizations in the past period of this year, successes and shortcomings, existing problems, the factors and causes of offences among female students, and necessary measures were mapped out to prevent such things in future.
An exchange of opinions took place on stepping up interaction between primary organizations and neighbourhood citizens gatherings, internal affairs bodies, medical associations, the Kamolot public youth movement, and on further strengthening the work of “Virtuous Girls” clubs at educational establishments.
Specialists gave detailed answers to questions that were of interest to participants in the seminar.
