Tourist routes: The Natural Park fascinates foreign tourists
16:23 / 2022-07-30

Oqtepa Hunting Estate of Surkhandarya region, rich in unique flora and fauna, is becoming a wonderful vacation spot and real salvation from the summer heat for thousands of people, and all this is thanks to the 35-year selfless work of “fans” of nature.

“This place is famous for its unique natural landscapes”, says the Deputy Hokim of Surkhandarya region, the head of the Regional Main Department for Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Jurabek Turayev. – It is possible to establish agro- and ecotourism here. The climate is cool, there is a picturesque lake where you can swim in the summer heat and have fun with family and friends. We are planning to repair the road leading to our hunting grounds and establish infrastructure along the shore of the lake to create a wonderful recreation area for tourists.

More than 30 species of seedlings were planted in the Natural Park, spread over more than 800 hectares of sandy lands on the banks of the reservoir, occupying an area of 400 hectares in Jarkurgan district. Today they have turned into huge fruit and ornamental trees, giving the park a beautiful view. A variety of outlandish flowers, unique plants have further enriched the nature of these places. Transparent water, crumbling into thousands of diamond drops, flows to the merry singing of birds.

The area covered with trees and plants has become a favorite habitat for various wild animals and birds.

“More than 20 species of animals have appeared in the park”, says Ruzigul Safarova, head of the Regional Department for Ecology and Environment Protection. – I am glad that they are surrounded by people who are truly in love with nature. The park has become a migration zone for rare birds from 8 countries. In summer, birds arrive, build nests, raise offspring, and then return to their homeland.

At the initiative of the Regional Department for Ecology and Environment Protection, a saxaul plantation has been planted on 60 hectares of sandy territory. According to experts, saxaul improves the composition of the air and protects the environment from dust. Even with strong winds, saxaul roots hold dunes.

The green zone, created by nature lovers, is now becoming a wonderful place that attracts foreign tourists to its bosom.
