The tourism sector is one of the main drivers for developing the Pap district of Namangan region for 2022-2026. In this regard, large-scale work is planned for this year.
In particular, the joint venture LLC Apart Hotel Cosmos developed the project “Crafts and Guest Houses”, which is scheduled to be implemented in “Guliston” mahalla in the village of Chodak. The project with a total cost of $75 million provides for the construction of 800 craft and guest houses, a small forest area, 8 kilometers of a cable car, paths for climbers, as well as the organization of excursions along the Chodak-Arshanbulok route for local and foreign tourists.
It is planned to improve the quality of service at tourist sites located on Qamchiq pass, the creation of new recreation areas and tourist sites, which will contribute to the further development of the sphere.
To date, 400 family guest houses have been built in the villages of Chodak and Parda Tursun. A list of guest houses that will be built in the next years has been compiled. It is planned that their number will be 1000. There are more than 500 recreation areas in these villages. In the future, their number will double, respectively, and the flow of local and foreign tourists will increase.
There is an opportunity to increase the income of the population by organizing exhibitions and trade in national handicrafts on the territories of tourist sites. In the tourist season of 2022, the flow of local tourists amounted to more than 600 thousand people (an average of 7 thousand daily, during the month – 210 thousand people), this figure is much higher compared to the previous year.
The increase in the tourist flow is facilitated by the creation of favorable conditions for visitors to cultural heritage and pilgrimage sites located in the district.
In the future, it is planned to study the lands of district forestry and create tourist zones in these territories, organize a service of guides and tour operators in the center of the village of Chodak, as well as information centers designed to provide information about tourist sites, family guest houses, transport and tourism services both in this village and at the tourism facilities of the nearest territories.
