A promotional event for tourism companies located in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain was organized at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Abu Dhabi together with VFS Global, which is responsible for promoting the tourism potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE, and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi airlines.

At the event initiated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UAE, it was noted that the signing of the Cooperation Protocol on mutual exemption of entry visa requirements between the governments of Uzbekistan and the UAE on January 16 this year is of great importance in further strengthening the collaboration between the two countries.

The Embassy and VFS Global held presentations for about 30 companies that participated in the event. The presentation included information about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, available opportunities, and conditions created for tour operators and travel agents. Promotional videos of various trips in Uzbekistan were shown.

Handouts promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan were provided. An exhibition of national costumes was organized. Dried fruits and sweets brought from Uzbekistan were served on the table. Noting that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has achieved high success in the Uzbekistan market in a short period, it is planning to fly to another city of Uzbekistan this year and to a total of 5 cities by 2026.

The airline presented the efficient use of the system, which was introduced separately for travel agents, and the facilities provided by the airline for organizing tourist groups from the UAE to Uzbekistan due to the implementation of cheap flights.

Following the event, the airline, together with the Embassy, held lottery games offering the opportunity to travel to Abu Dhabi, Tashkent, and Samarkand, and the winners Liberty Travel Bureau and Al Jaraf Travel and Tourism were awarded.

The parties reached an agreement to hold this event in cooperation with the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan in spring this year in Tashkent for local tourism companies.
