The Portuguese side highly appreciated the system of sanitary and epidemiological security “Uzbekistan. Safe Travel Guaranteed”.

The experience of “Turismo de Portugal” was shared, which is actively used to maintain the trust of tourists in Portugal, ensure their safety during a pandemic, with relevant recommendations of the Ministry of Health for tourism facilities and specialists in the industry.

Huge untapped potential of the two countries was noted and readiness was expressed to support the proposals and initiatives of the Uzbek side aimed at developing the tourism industry.

Following the negotiations, agreements were reached on organizing a meeting between tourism specialists to determine specific areas of interaction, to work out the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Committee for Tourism Development, relevant universities and Portuguese partners.
