Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Tourism Committee organized the tourism forum “Uzbekistan – The Pearl of the Silk Road” in Zagreb, Croatia.

The event brought together representatives of official circles, public organizations, and the Croatian tourism industry, serving as a platform to present Uzbekistan’s tourism and investment potential and to strengthen bilateral relations.

The forum was opened by Aziz Mirjalilov, Head of Department at the Tourism Committee, who highlighted the growth of tourist inflows to Uzbekistan as a result of visa liberalization, infrastructure development, and ongoing reforms aimed at attracting both tourists and investors. He also presented the country’s cultural heritage, including the historic cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, and spoke about the region’s investment opportunities.

Olivera Šarić, Advisor to the Croatian National Tourist Board, emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Participants were shown a video presentation showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, historical and cultural heritage, and traditions of hospitality. Guests also enjoyed Uzbek cuisine, and the forum concluded with a concert featuring Uzbek artists, whose performances of national songs and dances received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
