14:56 / 2023-01-02

The mausoleums of Sheikh Khovendi at-Takhur and Tole-biy (Kaldyrgach-biy) in the city of Tashkent are a favorite place for domestic tourists.

During the years of independence, the mausoleums were reconstructed in accordance with the relevant requirements and standards, the territories adjacent to them were landscaped, and favorable conditions were created for pilgrims.

Each mausoleum tells about our long history. Our ancestor, Sheikh Khovendi at-Takhur, was a man who called people to peace and good neighborliness all his life. The famous son of the Kazakh people Tole-biy Alibiy oglu (Kaldyrgach-biy) was one of the main Kazakh kadis (judges).

“Sheikh Khovendi at-Takhur is a scholar and Sufi who lived in the 14th century”, says a leading researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Reykhan Beruni of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences Komiljon Rakhimov. – He was a follower of Ahmad Yasawi teachings. The tomb of the Sheikh has become a favorite place for pilgrims. Tole-biy was buried here in the 17th century. He considered Sheikh Khovendi at-Takhur to be his spiritual mentor and bequeathed to be buried next to the teacher.

As previously reported, on 21-22 December, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a state visit to Uzbekistan. During the visit, he, accompanied by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited these mausoleums.

The Uzbek and Kazakh peoples do not forget the good deeds of their ancestors, honor their memory. Friendly ties between the two fraternal peoples continue strengthening based on common historical roots and traditions.
