Hunarmand Association together with Samarkand regional khokimiyat and Regional Branch of Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan organized a press tour dedicated to development of handicrafts and folk-applied arts in Samarkand region.

Hunarmand Association together with Samarkand regional khokimiyat and Regional Branch of Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan organized a press tour dedicated to development of handicrafts and folk-applied arts in Samarkand region.

Participants of the press tour got acquainted with activities of craftsmen engaged in pottery, jewelry, gold embroidery, engraving and coining in the Center of Artisans of Samarkand city.

Participants visited Samarkand – Bukhoro Ipak Gilamlari Uzbekistan – Afghanistan joint venture. They got acquainted with the process of carpet weaving and painting fabric with natural colors.

Samarkand region’s khokim Erkinjon Turdimov talked with participants of the press tour.

Journalists and bloggers were provided with detailed information about ongoing work on development of handicrafts and folk-applied arts in Samarkand.

They also visited Numon Oblokulov’s house – an eighth-generation potter, in Urgut district. Press tour participants became familiar with pottery workshop, an exhibition hall and pottery making process.

Journalists and bloggers also visited Ahmad Umarov’s creative house in Taylak district.

On the second day, participants became familiar with the working process in Mansur Asadov’s workshop, a wood carver from Bunyodkor mahalla. 

Participants of the press tour also visited Konigil Meros private enterprise in Samarkand region, where they got acquainted with the ancient process of paper production, as well as conditions created at the enterprise.
