Tour de Silk Road: Spanish company proposes to develop cycling tourism in Uzbekistan
The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development held a roundtable discussion on “Development of cycling as one of the ways of increasing the tourism potential of the country”.
The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development held a roundtable discussion on “Development of cycling as one of the ways of increasing the tourism potential of the country”. The meeting was attended by representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Uzbekistan Cycling Federation, and Spain’s Truebasport company.
At the meeting, representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development proposed to organize a joint International Bicycle Tour on Tour de Silk Road project.
It was noted that in the near future, Uzbekistan could become the most advanced player in Asia. The Spanish side approved the proposal of the Committee and presented its presentation on introduction of the bicycle system in the country, as well as made proposals for promotion of Uzbekistan as a tourism destination in Europe.
Following the meeting, the parties exchanged views on creation of a mutually beneficial project, which will be presented to management for consideration in the near future.
