A scheduled conference of the Namangan regional council of the Adolat Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan has been held on issues of preparing for the 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and electing delegates to attend the party’s congress.

It was noted at the event that the firm legal basis created in the country under leadership of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov for conducting elections in conformity with international standards is an important factor in the participation of political parties and civil society institutions in the country’s socio-political life.

“This has found expression in a change in citizens’ socio-political consciousness and in their conscious attitude to elections as well as in experience gathered by political parties in the preparation and conduct of elections. Since the day of announcement of the beginning of electoral campaigning, the Adolat Social Democratic Party has been participating actively in this important political process. In accordance with the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan `On elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan’, the party has successfully carried out the gathering of voters’ signatures. This process has been conducted at works, neighbourhoods and educational institutions on the basis of norms envisaged in legislation. The effective mobilisation of district and town councils of the party and more than 350 primary organizations as well as the conducting of conferences of district and town organizations have been helpful in this process,” says the chairman of the Namangan regional council of the Adolat Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Olimjon Maqsudov.

During the conference, delegates were elected to the party’s congress.
