The Hokim of Bukhara region, Botir Zaripov, received a delegation led by Stanislav Kushnir, project manager of the American company Sayar Green. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on implementing a project to produce alternative thermal energy through the incineration of medical waste.
It was noted that the investment project, carried out jointly with Sayar Green, will consist of two stages. The American company will construct plants for producing thermal energy from medical waste in all regions of Uzbekistan.
The first stage will cover all medical institutions in the city of Tashkent, as well as in Samarkand and Bukhara regions. Its cost amounts to $7 million.
It is planned to use equipment capable of thermally processing six thousand tons of medical waste generated annually in these three regions.
The cost of the project in Bukhara region amounts to $1.7 million. The project is being implemented in the former boiler house building of the Bukhara branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology.
Botir Zaripov expressed his full support for the project, which aims to dispose of medical waste effectively.
