An event under the motto “As long as there is a language – there is a nation” was held at Istanbul Kent University. This spiritual and educational gathering was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, the Society for Uzbek Culture, Solidarity and Cooperation in Türkiye, and Istanbul Kent University.
The event was attended by representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, figures from the arts and culture, compatriots, students, and representatives of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan. The festive evening once again demonstrated the high spirit of the Uzbek language, its international prestige, and its unifying power for the people.
Consul General Sherzod Abdunazarov emphasized that the Uzbek language is a historical memory, a spiritual treasure, and a source of pride for future generations. He noted that such festive events help strengthen respect and love for the native language.
“Our native language, being one of the most ancient and richest in the world, is a symbol of national unity, spiritual wealth, and high culture”, said Kabuljon Sabirov, Director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan. “Public diplomacy is also expressed through language, for the native language is the heart and face of the nation”.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of the Uzbek language in relations with Turkic-speaking countries.
Çokay Koçar, Chairman of the Society for Uzbek Culture, Solidarity, and Cooperation in Türkiye, noted that such events are of great importance for Uzbekistan students studying in Türkiye. Through their native language, they preserve their national identity and strengthen their spiritual connection with their homeland.
As part of the event, a festive table was arranged for the guests, and a concert was presented by the art ensemble and teachers of the Uzbek National Music Art Institute named after Yunus Rajabi. The program featured traditional Uzbek melodies and songs.
