Tashkent hosts a significant forum on the prospects of cooperation between Central Asia and China.

The first part of the event on “Mutually beneficial cooperation on the way to universal prosperity and sustainable development”, organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, has been completed.

ISRS Director Eldor Aripov stressed that cooperation between China and Central Asia has grown steadily in recent years, and the first summit of heads of state, held in May last year, is a clear confirmation of this.

According to the program, Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Zhao Zhimin, in his video message, highly appreciated the organization of the Fourth Forum of Analytical Centers “Central Asia – China”.

The ambassadors of the Central Asian countries to Uzbekistan also addressed the event.

After the official part of the meeting, a discussion on “Central Asia and China at the present stage of development: cooperation aimed at a common future” was held.

Experts noted that China is becoming one of the leading destinations for the products of the region’s countries, and the variety of competitive goods, agricultural, and food products supplied to China’s huge consumer market is steadily increasing.

Sessions were held on “The economy of the future: digital, innovative and green transformation”, “The development of transport and logistics links and industrial cooperation is an important factor in achieving overall economic prosperity”.
