The Dafeng Milu Nature Reserve, situated in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, China, is recognized as the world’s largest deer reserve. Established in 1986 with the introduction of 39 milu deer from the United Kingdom, the reserve is now home to over 8,000 deer.

The reserve, spanning a total area of 78,000 hectares, is a treasure trove of biodiversity. In 2002, it was included in the List of Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. This area features a typical intertidal marsh ecosystem and is home to a diverse array of rare animal species, including 315 bird species, 600 insect species, and 156 fish species.

The reserve has fully embraced ecotourism and welcomes over one million visitors annually.
