The International Media Hall hosted a roundtable discussion on “Uzbekistan at the crossroads of cultures and civilizations: History and Modernity”.
Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov noted that in recent years, the main attention has been paid to the radical improvement of national legislation in culture. Large practical initiatives are being actively implemented for the development of maqom and bakhshi schools.
Director General of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan Shoazim Minovarov noted that all the necessary conditions have been created to study the heritage of our great ancestors, peaceful coexistence of representatives of different religious confessions. As is known, Islamic civilization, enlightenment and religious revival have a special place in our history. Our ancestors, who laid the foundations of these civilizations, played an important role in the development of the exact and social sciences, medicine, cosmology, modern IT technologies, artificial intelligence, public administration, urban planning, culture, literature, and fine arts.
More than 100 thousand works of our great ancestors have been collected in scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan. The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has about five thousand ancient works. Much work is being carried out to carefully study and popularize their meaning.
Director General of the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan Jaloliddin Safoyev noted that the development of national culture is incredibly important. This structure is actively implementing promising projects to study and popularize our national cultural heritage on a global scale. Published books and albums, educational publications, congresses and conferences contribute to the fact that the world community is now showing a truly great interest in Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage.
